Free peer conversations

Talking Anyway.

Hi, I'm Pete. Free conversations for college students and young professionals who stutter or stammer. Not a program. Not therapy. Just someone who has been exactly where you are.

How it works

Two ways to connect.

No wrong choice.

Live chat

A 30-minute Perspective Chat

One session, no commitment to anything after. You pick the time, you show up however you want to show up.

  • Camera is completely optional
  • First name, nickname, or nothing at all
  • Zero pressure to be articulate, fluent, or composed
  • No agenda. The conversation is yours.

Async messaging

WhatsApp, on your schedule

If a live call sounds like too much right now, that is completely fine. Text or voice note, whenever it feels right.

  • Text or voice note, whichever is easier
  • I check messages a few times a week
  • No appointment, no timeline, no expectations
  • Send whatever you want to send

My story

Pete

I still stutter.
That is not the point.

Pete presenting to a room of professionals

Growing up with a stammer, the hardest part was never the words I could not get out. It was what I assumed everyone else was thinking. I would raise my hand to go to the bathroom just to avoid reading aloud in class. I faked being sick on presentation days in college. I asked professors if I could skip public speaking entirely. The stutter I could almost deal with. The fear of how people saw me was what quietly stunted my personal and career growth.

Before you reach out

Honest about what this is

This is not speech therapy, clinical treatment, or professional coaching of any kind. I am someone who grew up with a stammer and found a way to stop letting it run my life, and I want to talk to other people who are in the middle of that same thing.

I have a full time career and a young family, and I fit these conversations around both of those things. I will do my best to respond to everyone who reaches out, but I am not a resource with unlimited capacity. If demand ever gets to a point where I cannot give people the time and attention they deserve, I will say so clearly rather than let anyone feel ignored or forgotten. You deserve honesty more than you deserve a polished answer.

For WhatsApp, I check messages a few times a week. If you send something and do not hear back within a few days, it is not because I missed it or do not care. It is because I am a real person with a real schedule, and I will get to you.

Need to talk right now?

What I offer is a conversation, not a crisis resource. If you are in a dark place and need support right now, please reach out to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988. They are there for exactly that moment, and there is no shame in using them.

No catch.

There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to buy. I am doing this because I genuinely want to, not because it is my job.

Not a professional.

I am not a speech therapist, psychologist, or clinician of any kind. I am limited to my own lived experience, and I am upfront about that. If you need professional support, I will always say so and help point you in the right direction.
